Abstract
Abstract THE SPECIFICATION DISCLOSES HIGHLY FLUORINATED COMPOUNDS EACH CONTAINING A 3 TO 16 MEMBERED RING WHICH INCLUDES A CARBON-BONDED PEROXIDE GROUP. THESE COMPOUNDS ARE PREPARED BY FLUORINATING A COMPOUND HAVING 2 OXYGEN ATOMS BONDED TO CARBON TO EFFECT RING CLOSURE TO FORM THE PEROXIDE-CONTAINING RING. THE COMPOUNDS OF THE INVENTION ARE USEFUL AS OXIDANTS AND AS POLYMERIZATION INITIATORS.
