Abstract

Abstract In the process of making polyisocyanate-modified neoprene foams it is necessary to lower the pH of the latex to within the 9.510.8 range prior to the polyisocyanate addition. This is conveniently accomplished by adding to the latex a strong acid salt of morpholine, diethanolamine, di-(2-propanol)amine, or ethanol(2-propanol)amine. Foams produced from such a latex have excellent resilience and load-bearing capacity.
