Abstract
Abstract This application discloses a solid rocket propellant composition containing as its principal ingredients a major amount of finely divided oxidizer and a minor amount of a fuel binder. The fuel binder is essentially a cured condensation polymer of a dicarboxylic acid and a diol containing a carboranyl group. To facilitate curing the polymer may be provided with isocyanate terminals. Additives such as metal powders, e.g., aluminum powder; plasticizers, e.g., isopropyl carborane; burning rate modifiers, catalysts, etc., may be incorporated in the composition.
