Abstract 2-METHYL-5-METHOXY-3-INDOLEACETOHYDROXAMIC ACID COMPOUNDS OF THE FORMULA: WHEREIN R is a member selected from the group consisting of hydrogen, phenylmethyl, allyl, vinyl, isopropenyl, benzoyl, chlorobenzoyl, methoxybenzoyl, and thiomethylbenzoyl, and process for preparing same. These compounds exhibit excellent antiinflammatory, antipyretic and analgesic effects.
