Abstract

Abstract The catalyst comprises Group VIA and Group VIII metals and/or their compounds and an acidic support comprising large-pore crystalline aluminosilicate material and a large-pore-diameter alumina having a surface area within the range of about 150 to about 500 square meters per gram and an average pore diameter within the range of about 80 to about 200 Angstroms. Preferred Group VIA metals are molybdenum and tungsten. Preferred Group VIII metals are cobalt and nickel. The preferred large-pore crystalline aluminosilicate material is ultrastable, large-pore crystalline aluminosilicate material. The processes are hydrocarbon conversion processes, a typical example of which is a hydrocracking process. The hydrocracking process comprises contacting in a hydrocracking reaction zone under hydrocracking conditions and in the presence of hydrogen petroleum hydrocarbon fractions with the catalyst of the present invention.
