Abstract

Abstract A method for producing tear-strips from a continuous web having a width equal to the desired length of tear-strip comprises intermittently advancing the longitudinal web, transversely cutting the web progressively from one edge to the opposite edge between each advancement of the web to sever portions of the web equal in length to the desired width of the tear-strip and continuously urging each strip as it is being severed from the web in a direction transverse to the direction of advance of the web and conveying each cut strip in a direction opposite to the direction the web is progressively cut.
