Abstract

Abstract Water-soluble salts of amines and formic acid are added to Portland cement compositions (e.g. concrete) to accelerate the setting time thereof. The additives exhibit a particular effectiveness for offsetting the set-retardation effect of waterreducing, set-retarding agents, (e.g. lignosulfonates) employed in Portland cement compositions.
