Abstract
Abstract A device for damping mechanical vibrations of a conductor, the device including a body member and at least one member for clamping the conductor, one of the members having opposed arms or wall structures spaced from and located respectively on at least two sides of an arm of the other member. The arms of the two members are mechanically and resiliently connected together by at least two close wound springs, the longitudinal axes of the springs extending between the spaced arms of the one member and through the arm of the other member.
