Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 3
Claim 1
Independent Claim 79 words
A process for the production of a simulated grasslike woven product comprising the steps of: a. extruding a thermoplastic monofilament ribbon having a substantially rectangular cross section, b. slitting said monofilament ribbon in a discontinuous and random fashion longitudinally through its narrowest dimension, c. weaving said ribbon into successive rows extending vertically from a warp and fill backing, whereby the free ends of said ribbons are characterized by random widths, and d. securing said backing with an adhesive material.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 96 words
A process for producing a simulated grasslike tufted product comprising the steps of: a. extruding a thermoplastic composition into a monofilament ribbon having a substantially rectangular cross section, b. slitting said ribbon in a discontinuous and random fashion longitudinally through its narrowest dimension, c. tufting said ribbon into a backing to form successive rows of loops, d. cutting said loops to provide a cut pile face whereby the free ends of said ribbons are characterized by random widths, and e. securing said backing by applying an adhesive material on the side opposite the cut pile face.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 84 words
A process for producing a simulated grasslike product comprising the steps of: a. extruding a thermoplAstic material into a monofilament ribbon having a substantially rectangular cross section, b. slitting said monofilament ribbon in a discontinuous and random fashion longitudinally through its narrowest dimension, c. knitting said ribbon into pile construction extending from a warp and lay-in backing, d. securing said backing by an adhesive material, and e. cutting said pile whereby the resulting free ends of said monofilament ribbons are characterized by random widths.
