Abstract

Abstract A direct printout photographic system suitable for photocopy work, particularly for microfilm blowups. A leuco base of a dior triarylmethane, xanthene, thioxanthene, selenaxanthene, anthracene or acridine dye and a quinone activator, supported in a binder or distributed within a portion of a substrate, form the photosensitive system which is activated when exposed to a range of electromagnetic radiation extending from the ultraviolet through the visible spectrum. The system is adaptable to making monochrome and black-and-white prints and transparencies.
