Abstract A PIVOTAL PLATEN MECHANISM IS PROVIDED FOR USE IN A CAMERA IN WHICH SLIDE TRANSPARENCY UNITS ARE BOTH EXPOSED AND PROCESSED. THE PLATEN PIVOTS OUT OF THE EXPOSURE PLANE BEFORE EXPOSURE OF THE FILM AND THEN PIVOTS INTO THE EXPOSURE PLANE TO SUPPORT THE FILM DURING SPREADING OF A DEVELOPING FLUID ACROSS THE FILM.
