Abstract AN ABRASIVE WHEEL SPINDLE IS SUPPORTED IN A PAIR OF SPACED EXTERNALLY PRESSURIZED GAS BEARINGS MOUNTED IN THE SPINDLE HOUSING. THE GAS BEARINGS ALSO PROVIDE A SEALING FUNCTION FOR A TRANSITION CHAMBER FOR DELIVERING COOLANT TO A CONDUIT IN THE ROTATING SPINDLE.
