Abstract A PHOTOGRAPHIC SHUTTER HAVING AN ELECTRONIC TIMING DEVICE INCLUDING AN EXPOSURE TIME CONTROL CIRCUIT WITH A BATTERY AND A BRANCH WITH A SHUTTER LOCKING ELECTROMAGNET. AN ELECTROMAGNETIC OPEN-TIME SHUTTER LOCK FOR THE SHUTTER DRIVE AND AN ELECTRONIC DELAY DEVICE IS CONNECTED TO THE SHUTTER LOCK TO TEMPORARILY LOCK THE SHUTTER ACTION AFTER RELEASE. THE ELECTRONIC DELAY DEVICE HAS A SWITCHING DEVICE OPERABLE AT THE END OF THE DELAY PERIOD TO CONNECT THE ELECTROMAGNET OF THE EXPOSURE TIME CONTROL CIRCUIT TO THE BATTERY. THE SWITCHING DEVICE IS IN THE FORM OF AN ELECTRONIC SWITCH CONNECTED TO THE BRANCH OF THE EXPOSURE TIME CONTROL CIRCUIT THAT INCLUDES THE SHUTTER LOCKING ELECTROMAGNET.
