Abstract
Abstract This disclosure relates to a method of producing hollow cored concrete slabs in a continuous operation from an initial concrete material having a slump test in the range of 0.5 to 4.0 per ASTM testing. More particularly, the method of the invention is a continuous one to produce the slabs wherein they are continuously formed, vibrated and trowelled, and wherein the concrete material is extruded to produce an elongated prestressed reinforced cored concrete slab.

A method of fabricating cored concrete slabs as described in claim 1, including: a. after supplying concrete material through said first hopper, feeding a mesh reinforcing material horizontally adjacent the top surface of said core members, b. vibrating the concrete material after the deposit thereof on said pallet after said first and second hoppers, respectively, to settle the concrete material within the confines of said sides of said maChine and said pallet and remove air pockets therefrom, c. placing said prestressed strands beneath said forward portion of said core members to achieve a continuous prestressed concrete slab, wherein d. the concrete material supplied has a sump consistency of 1.0-2.5 under ASTM testing, e. hydraulically propelling said machine along said pallet, and f. traveling the upper surface of the concrete material rearwardly of said first and second hoppers.
