Abstract
Abstract The tendency of natural soap compositions to deposit precipitates in hard water is inhibited by addition of 12-25 percent by weight sodium or potassium vicinal hydroxy alkyl maleate wherein the alkyl group contains from 12 to 20 carbon atoms.
