Abstract AN OUTRIGGER SECURED TO A SPACE VEHICLE IS DISPLACEABLE BETWEEN AN INOPERATIVE POSITION MOUNTED IN A COMPACT ARRANGEMENT AGAINST THE VEHICLE AND AN OPERATIVE POSITION IN WHICH IT IS EXTENDED OUTWARDLY FROM THE VEHICLE. THE OUTRIGGER IS FORMED OF A MAIN OUTRIGGER SECTION WHICH EXTENDS OUTWARDLY FROM THE VEHICLE IN THE OPERATIVE POSITION AND AUXILIARY OUTRIGGER SECTIONS WHICH EXTEND LATERALLY FROM THE MAIN OUTRIGGER SECTION IN THE OPERATIVE POSITION. IN THE INOPERATIVE POSITION THE AUXILIARY OUTRIGGER SECTIONS ARE DISPOSED IN A FOLDED ARRANGEMENT ON THE MAIN OUTRIGGER SECTION.
