Abstract
Abstract A marine installation for storing hydrocarbon liquids has a reservoir containing the hydrocarbon liquid and water beneath the hydrocarbon liquid. As the hydrocarbon liquid enters the reservoir water is removed. When the hydrocarbon liquid is removed water is added to maintain sufficient ballast in the installation to keep the installation immersed and in place.
