Abstract A METHOD OF MONITORING DUST INCLUDES PASSING STREAM GAS CONTAINING DUST INTO A CENTRIFUGAL FLOW SEPARATING DEVICE. WHILST ONE CHARACTERISTIC OF GAS FLOW THROUGH THE DEVICE IS MAINTAINED CONSTANT AND THE DUST CONCENTRATION IN THE DEVICE IS ALLOWED TO INCREASE, ANOTHER CHARACTERISTIC OF GAS FLOW THROUGH THE DEVICE IS MONITORED.
