Abstract PROCESS FOR THE BENEFICIATION OF TITANIFEROUS ORES WHEREIN THE NATURAL ORE IS OXIDIZED TO CONVERT SUBSTANTIALLY ALL OF THE IRON VALUES PRESENT TO THE FERRIC STATE AND THE OXIDIZED ORE IS THEN DEOXIDIZED TO CONVERT SUBSTANTIALLY ALL OF THE IRON VALUES THERIN TO THE FERROUS STATE AND THE PRODUCT IN WHICH SUBSTANTIALLY ALL OF THE IRON VALUES THEREIN ARE IN THE FERROUS STATE CONTAINING NOT MORE THAN 20% OF THE METALLIC IRON.
