Abstract
Abstract A material-treating process in which the percent weight of coating relative to the measured dry weight of a host material is computed. In application to resin-impregnating process, the percent volatiles in a sheet is computed by measuring the total weight of the dried sheet and computing the ratio of the weight of volatiles in the sheet to the measured total dried sheet weight. Radiation gauges are provided which respond to the weight per unit area of the sheet being measured and a dielectric measuring gauge that responds to the moisture content of the uncoated sheet.
