Abstract
Abstract A method for filling a metallic vessel with a fusible heat storage composition which comprises inductively heating said vessel to a substantially uniform desired temperature, introducing said heat storage composition in the desired amount, and cooling the vessel uniformly by proper control of the induction heater to prevent the development of stress between said metal vessel and said heat storage composition which results from the contraction differential between said materials.

A method for filling a metallic vessel with a fusible heat storage composition which comprises inductively heating said vessel to a substantially uniform desired temperature. Introducing said heat storage composition in the desired amount, and cooling the vessel uniformly by proper control of the induction heater to prevent the development of stress between said metal vessel and said heat storage composition which results from the contraction differential between said materials.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim
19 words
The process oF claim 1 in which solid heat storage material is introduced into said inductively heated metallic vessel.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim
17 words
The process of claim 1 in which molten heat storage material is introduced into said metallic vessel.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim
75 words
The process of claim 1 in which said metallic vessel is a mild steel vessel. 5 A process for continuously filling metallic vessels with a fusible heat storage composition which comprises successively moving plural vessels through an induction heater for a predetermined period of time to preheat said vessels, introducing said heat storage composition into said preheated vessels and cooling said vessels uniformly to a temperature below the temperature at which heat storage medium solidifies.
