Abstract
Abstract Heels and soles comprising an insert and an outer layer, which are particularly useful for footwear are disclosed. The heels and soles of this invention exhibit several desirable properties including their lightweightness, good wear resistance, as well as being readily adhered to the shoe material. The insert is preferably made from a rigid polyurethane foam although a rigid polyether or polyester foam may also be employed. The outer layer preferably consists of a semirigid, closed-cell foamed polyurethane.
