Abstract
Abstract A prosthetic joint made of a fabric-reinforced unitary elastomeric member providing two tapering stems connected to opposite ends of a central portion having thick ends and a thin web and arranged to provide relative movement of one stem to the other in at least one direction while preventing movement in undesired directions. The stems are used for insertion into the interiors of each of two bones to be joined by the joint. The stems are overlaid with cloth fabric of a kind enabling better fixation of the prosthetic joint to the tissue in the bones.
