Abstract
Abstract A waveguide has disposed coaxially therein and perpendicular to the axis of microwave propagation a resonant ring structure including a varactor bridging an electrical discontinuity in the ring. The structure is used as a switch, tunable filter or upconverter by suitably biasing the varactor from an outside biasing source. For use as a frequency multiplier or limiter the varactor generally needs no external biasing source.
