Abstract

Abstract To obtain a prestressed anchorage of wire ropes in concrete works, a barrel-shaped cylindrical anchoring socket is used in which preferably parallel through passages are formed, these passages being adapted to receive the wire rope strands of which the free projecting ends are secured to an anchoring head on which the tensioning traction is exerted until the socket can be fastened to the work. The strand or wire rope fastening to said anchoring head may be replaced by that of a screw-threaded rod rigid with, and projecting coaxially from, said socket.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 189 words
A method of anchoring a wire rope in a predetermined tensioned condition to an anchoring frame comprising: providing a wire rope to be tensioned; providing an anchoring frame and an anchoring sleeve movable relative thereto to an anchoring position; extruding said anchoring sleeve on an end portion of said wire rope to an axial distance along the length of said wire rope proportional to the extent of elongation thereof when same is in said predetermined tensioned condition; applying a tensive force directly on said wire rope end portion until said predetermined tensioned condition is obtained accompanied by movement of said anchoring sleeve to said anchoring position; and then locking said anchoring sleeve against movement relative to said anchoring frame. CM,2Thod according to claim 1; wherein said first-mentioned providing step comprises providing a multistrand wire rope to be tensioned; and wherein said extruding step comprises simultaneously extruding said anchoring sleeve on respective end portions of each individual strand of said multistrand wire rope to an axial distance along the length of saiD multistrand wire rope proportional to the extent of elongation thereof when same is in said predetermined tensioned condition.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 39 words
A method according to claim 2; including embedding a spring into both said anchoring sleeve and each individual strand of said multistrand wire rope during said extruding step to securely fasten said anchoring sleeve to said multistrand wire rope.
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 30 words
A method according to claim 2; wherein said extruding step includes extruding said anchoring sleeve on said multistrand wire rope while said individual strands are arranged in a circular configuration.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 30 words
A method according to claim 2; further including the step of removing that portion of said multistrand wire rope projecting beyond said anchoring sleeve after completion of said locking step.
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 33 words
A method according to claim 1; including embedding a spring into both said anchoring sleeve and said wire rope during said extruding step to securely fasten said anchoring sleeve to said wire rope.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 29 words
A method according to claim 1; further including the step of removing that portion of said wire rope extending beyond said anchoring sleeve after completion of said locking step.
