Abstract A PROCESS FOR PREPARING CYCLOSILOXANES HAVING AT LEAST THREE SILICON ATOMS WHICH INVOLVES THE REACTION OF A HALOGEN ENDBLOCKED LINEAR POLYSILOXANE WITH AT LEAST A STOICHLOMETRIC AMOUNT OF AN ALKALI METAL CASRBONATE SALT IN THE PRESENCE OF A SUITABLE POLAR SOLVENT. THE REACTION IS EXOTHERMIC AND IS PREFERABLY CONDUCTED AT ROOM TEMPERATURE.
