Abstract
Abstract A SPROCKET PLACED BETWEEN A PROJECTION APERTURE AND A TAKEUP REEL ADVANCES FILM TO THE TAKEUP REEL. THE SPROCKET IS DRIVEN BY A GEAR TRAIN CONNECTED TO A ROTATING SHUTTER SHAFT. A SPRING-LOADED LOST MOTION DEVICE PERMITS THE SPROCKET TO REMAIN MOTIONLESS DURING THE INITIAL OPERATION OF A PULLDOWN CLAW AT THE PROJECTION APERTURE, SO THAT A LOOP OF FILM FORMS BETWEEN THE PROJECTION APERTURE AND THE SPROCKET. THE SPROCKET THEN ROTATES AND FEEDS THE FILM.
