Abstract

Abstract DIAMOND PARTICLES ARE SECURED TO A DRILLING BIT BODY BY A METAL LAYER DEPOSITED BY ELETROCASTING. MELT SPRAYING OF THE RESULTING BIT WITH MOLTEN METAL MAY BE ADDITIONALLY CARRIED OUT. THROUGHOUT THE PROCESS, THE DIAMOND PARTICLES ARE NOT SUBJECTED TO TEMPERATURES EXCEEDING APPROXIMATELY 150*C., WHEREBY THEIR PROPERTIES ARE NOT IMPAIRED, AND HIGH DRILLING PERFORMANCE OF THE BIT IS AFFORDED.
