Abstract A WAVE MEASURING SYSTEM IN WHICH AN ACCELEROMETER SENSOR IS SEALED WITHIN A CANISTER SUSPENDED BY A LONG LEAD WELL BELOW THE SURFACE OF THE SEA FROM A FLOTATION BUOY, WHEREBY PERTURBATION OF THE BUOY BY WAVE ACTION IS TRANSFERRED TO THE CANISTER TO PRODUCE ACCELEROMETER READINGS WHICH ARE A FUNCTION OF WAVE ACTIVITY.
