Abstract CELLULAR THERMOPLASTIC MATERIALS ARE PREPARED BY HEATING THE MATERIAL TO PLASTICITY, APPLYING A PRESSURE THERETO, EJECTING THE MATERIAL UNDER PRESSURE THROUGH AN ORIFICE TO FORM A MULTIPLICITY OF DISCREET PARTICLES AND COALESCING THE PARTICLES WHILE IN THE INITIAL EXPANDING STATE. THE PRODUCT IS USEFUL FOR A VARIETY OF MATERIALS SUCH AS DISPOSABLE DIAPERS.
