Abstract ALKALINE CLEANSING AGENTS CONTAINING ADDITIVES WHICH PREVENT HYDROLYSIS AND THE DEPOSIT OF CALCIUM COMPOUNDS DUE TO THE USE OF HARD WATER. THE ADDTIVES ARE PRESENT IN QUANTITIES RANGING FROM 0.5 TO 20 WEIGHT PERCENT AND ARE A MIXTURE OF A HYDROXYALKANE-1,1-DIPHOSPHONIC ACID WITH AN AMINOPOLYPHOSPHONIC ACID IN MUTUAL WEIGHT PROPORTIONS OF 3:1 TO 1:3. THE WATER-SOLUBLE SALTS OF BOTH THESE COMPOUNDS MAY BE USED IN LIEU OF THE ACIDS THEMSELVES.
