Abstract AN IMPROVED METHOD OF PREPARING STEROID GLYCOPYRANOSIDURONIDES AND GLYCOPYRANOSIDES IS DESCRIBED. THESE COMPOUNDS ARE PREPARED BY REACTING A GLYCOSIDYL OR GLYCURONYL HALIDE WITH AN AROMATIC HYDROXY STEROID IN THE PRESENCE OF A CADMIUM COMPOUND AND A HYDROCARBON SOLVENT. THE PRODUCTS ARE USEFUL AS ESTROGENIC AGENTS.
