Abstract
Abstract IMPROVED HEAT TRANSFER ADDITIVES FOR LITHIUM BROMIDE ABSORBENT SOLUTIONS ARE SELECTED FROM A CLASS OF TERTIARY ALCOHOLS. THE TERTIARY ALCOHOLS HAVE GREATER OXIDATIVE STABILITY AND, THEREFORE, DO NOT REACT AS RAPIDLY WITH THE CHROMATE CORROSION INHIBITORS WHICH ARE COMMONLY USED IN THE ABSORBENT SOLUTIONS. IN ALL CASES, THE HEAT TRANSFER IMPROVEMENT IS AT LEAST AS GOOD AS KNOWN, LESS STABLE, PREMARY (AND SECONDARY) ALCOHOLS.
