Abstract

Abstract BY INCORPORATING AT LEAST ONE ION OF A METAL FROM GROUPS I-A, I-B AN VIII OF THE DEMING PERIODIC TABLE INTO A STRONTIUM OXIDE-PEROXIDE REACTION MASS, A GREAT INCREASE IN THE OXIDATION AND REEUCTION RATES OF THE MASS IS OBTAINED. THIS INCREASE IN REACTION RATES MAKES IT FEASIBLE TO USE THIS SYSTEM AS THE OXYGEN CARRIER IN A CYCLIC, REVERSIBLE OXIDATION-REDUCTION PROCESS FOR THE SEPARATION OF OXYGEN FROM AIR.
