Abstract
Abstract A diode laser which has a P-zone, an N-zone and a PN-transition zone therebetween. The laser is provided with two reflecting surfaces, and at least one of these does not reflect completely. A bundle of light is generated and amplified by a direct current flowing from the P-zone to the N-zone and is reflected back and forth in the plane of the transition zone. Incomplete reflection of at least one of the surfaces is accomplished by covering or roughening a portion of the same almost, but not completely, up to the line along which a usable bundle of rays emerges.
