Abstract FLAME RETARDANT THERMOSETTABLE RESINS ARE PREPARED BY INCORPORATING THEREIN AA FLAME RETARDANT AMOUNT OF A POLYMERIZABLE PHOSPHATE ESTER PREPARED BY REACTING A HYDROXYALKYL ACRYALTE OR METHACRYLATE WITH P205 AND SUBSEQUENTLY REACTING THE PRODUCT WITH AN ALKYLENE OXIDE TO CONVERT SUBSTANTIALLY ALL THE REACTED PHOSPHORIC ACID GROUPS TO HYDROXYALKYL ESTER GROUPS.
