Abstract A NUCLEAR FUEL ASSEMBLY COMPRISING AT LEAST ONE BUNDLE OF PINS PROVIDED WITH EXPANSION CHAMBERS AND DISPOSED WITHIN A TUBULAR BOX WHICH CONSTITUTES A COOLANT CIRCULATION SYSTEM. THE BOX COMPRISES A CENTRAL TUBULAR SUPPORT STRUCTURE HAVING A BOTTOM END-FITTING AND A TOP ENDIFITTING OR LIFTING HEAD. THE TUBULAR STRUCTURE SERVES TO SUPPORT THE PINS AND CONSTITUTES AN AXIAL DUCT WHICH BY-PASSES THE SPACE LOCATED BETWEEN THE EXPANSION CHAMBERS.
