Abstract NONDIFFUSIBLE 5-HYDROXYCOURMARAN STABLIZER COMPOUNDS WHICH HAVE EITHER A SUBSTITUTED AMINO GROUP OR AN ALKOXY GROUP SUBSTITUTED ON THE CARBON ATOMS IN THE 2 POSITION ARE ADVANTAEOUSLY INCORPORATED IN HYDROPHILIC COLLOID LAYERS OF PHOTOGRAPHIC ELEMENTS IN WHICH COLOR PHOTOGRAPHIC DYE IMAGES ARE TO BE STORED FOR VIEWING. THE STABLIZER COMPOUNDS PROTECT DYE IMAGES AGAINST THE FADING EFFECTS OF PROLONGED EXPOSURE TO LIGHT.
