Abstract A T-SHAPED HANDLE ATTACHED TO THE PULL ROPE OF A REWIND TYPE ENGINE STARTER COMPRISES SEPARABLY NESTED INNER AND OUTER SECTIONS, THE LATTER BEING CAPABLE OF DEFORMATION INTO A SHAPE PERMITTING IT TO BE PASSED THROUGH A HOLE ONLY LARGE ENOUGH TO ACCOMODATE THE SMALLER RIGID INNER SECTION WHEN THE SECTIONS ARE SEPARATED BUT STILL CONNECTED WITH THE ROPE.
