Abstract

Abstract A feed system suitable for satellite communication earth station antennas and which includes a three-port polarizer assembly, multimode horn assembly and tracking difference mode circuitry is described. The three-port polarizer assembly is coupled to the horn assembly for providing full polarization mode flexibility for the sum modes. The multimode horn assembly provides excitation and control of both the sum and difference modes and inhibits the undesirable modes. The tracking difference mode circuitry is coupled to the multimode horn to process the difference modes and provide the azimuth and elevation information for monopulse tracking.
