Abstract
Abstract An improved tanlock phase-lock loop phase comparator generates the signals approximating y (l+k) sin phi and x k cos phi in response to a pair of input signalsA sin ( omega 1t + Theta 1) and A cos ( omega 2t + Theta 2) where phi Theta 1 Theta 2. The signal k cos phi is operated on by a nonlinear circuit element having a transfer function approximating 1/1+x to produce a signal z. Signals y and z are multiplied to provide the desired output approximating the form (1+k) sin phi /1+k cos phi .
