Abstract AN IMPROVED COMPLEX SILICATE PIGMENT IS DISCLOSED PREPARED BY PRECIPITATING A COMPLEX SILICATE PIGMENT ON CATIONIC FIBROUS MAGNESIUM OR MAGNESIUM-ALUMINUM SILICATES. THE RATIO OF THE FIBROUS SILICATE TO PIGMENT IS BETWEEN ABOUT 50:50 AND 97:3 BY WEIGHT. THE PROPERTIES OF PAPERS MANUFACTURED USING THE IMPROVED PIGMENT OF THIS INVENTION ARE DESCRIBED.
