Abstract A SQUEEGEE COMPONENT OF A WINDSHIELD WIPER BLADE, THE SQUEEGEE HAVING AN ELONGATED ELASTOMERIC BODY WITH A LONGITUDINAL MOUNTING PORTION AND A LONGITUDINAL WIPING LIP. THE BODY IS PROGRESSIVELY NARROWER IN THE DIRECTION OF THE LIP AND IS PROVIDED IN ITS RELATIVELY WIDE PORTION WITH A LONGITUDINAL HOLLOW CORE. THE CORE IS DEFORMABLE IN CROSS-SECTION TO CORRESPONDINGLY DEFORM AND VARY THE RESILIENCY OF PORTIONS OF THE BODY SURROUNDING THE CORE, AS A FUNCTION OF CHANGES IN WIPING FORCES AT THE LIP.
