Abstract

Abstract An exercising apparatus for physical training and sports practice having hand and foot attachment devices connected to movable cable sections and pulleys that permit reciprocation movements of the arms and legs. The cable sections connected to the feet are attached to clogs which simulate skis. The user stands on the clogs when exercising. The clogs are connected by a coupler element which maintains the clogs in parallel relationship as they are moved by the user''s feet. The lower surface of each clog includes a downwardly extending ridge.

Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 4
Claim 1
Independent Claim 167 words
Exercise apparatus, characterized by the fact that it has, in combination, a pulley and means of fastening it nonresiliently to a fixed point, a main cable passing over this pulley, two intermediate pulleys equipped with swivels having a snap-hook fixed to the free ends of this main cable, an auxiliary cable passing over each of the intermediate pulleys and equipped with holding means associated with one auxiliary cable especially adapted for the upper limbs of a user, and holding means associated with the other auxiliary cable especially adapted for use with the lower limbs of the user, the holding means adapted for use with the lower limbs and consisting of two clogs each having a top, a bottom, and side surfaces, the bottom surface of each clog having two facets forming an angle defining a central ridge midway between the side surfaces, the top surfaces of the clogs having means of fitting to the user''s foot as well as means for fastening it to its auxiliary cable.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 167 words
Claim 3
Dependent Claim 52 words
Apparatus as recited in claim 1, characterized by the fact that it has a coupling device including a link pivotally connected at each end to a clog to join the two clogs in order to compel them to maintain their parallelism without, however, preventing longitudinal and axial relative movement of the clogs.
Claim 4
Dependent Claim 40 words
Apparatus as recited in claim 2, wherein rods extend slidably and longitudinally through the clogs, the said link joining the rods at the rear of the clogs and the rods being hingedly joined to one another forwardly of the clogs.
