Abstract
Abstract AN IMPROVED PULSE POSITION MODULATOR IS DESCRIBED WHEREIN SELECTED PULSES ORDINARILY REPRESENTATIVE OF THE ZERO SIGNAL LEVEL OF THE INFORMATION TO BE TRANSMITTED ARE DELETED. DELETION IS ACCOMPLISHED BY GENERATING A PULSE POSITION MODULATED SIGNAL REPRESENTATIVE OF THE INFORMATION SIGNAL AND HAVING A PRESELECTED PULSE REPETITION RATE, WITH SELECTED PORTIONS OF THE PULSES THEREFROM DELETED BY USE ANOTHER PULSE TRAIN OF THE SAME REPETITION RATE BUT DELAYED IN TIME BY AN AMOUNT CORRESPONDING TO THE POSITION OF THE PULSE TO BE DELETED.
