Abstract A METHOD FOR FORMING AN ELECTROSTATIC LATENT IMAGE ON THE SURFACE OF A NONPHOTOCONDUCTIVE DIELECTRIC MATERIAL IS DISCLOSED. IT HAS BEEN DETERMINED THAT THE CHARGE ON THE SURFACE OF AN INSULATING MATERIAL MAY BE SELECTIVELY DISSIPATED, ALTHOUGH THE MATERIAL ITSELF IS NOT PHOTOCONDUCTIVE, UPON EXPOSURE TO A HIGH INTENSITY ELECTROMAGNETIC RADIATION SOURCE.
