Abstract THIS INVENTION IS A NEW FORM OF GRAPHITE FLAKE. SUCH FLAKES ARE IRREGULAR IN FORM, HAVE A DENSITY OF BETWEEN 0.25 AND 1.5 GM/CC. AND ARE PREPARED BY COMPRESSING INDIVIDUAL PARTICLES OF VERMICULAR EXPANDED GRAPHITE TO THE DESIRED DENSITY. MASSES OF THESE FLAKES MAY BE COMPRESSED TO FORM COHERED ARTICLES WITHOUT THE NEED OF A BINDER.
