Abstract
Abstract A closure for a container comprising metallic foil and paper which are bonded together to form the closure. The closure is formed in a punch press to form a number of ridges in the foil which are forced into the mating surface of dampened paper. After the paper dries and shrinks, the ridges are intimately interlocked into the fibers of the paper.
