Abstract NOVEL TRINUCLEAR DYES HAVING AN ACID NUCLEUS WHICH IS SUBSTITUTED WITH A SECONDARY AMINO SUBSTITUTED ALKYL GROUP ARE GOOD SPECTRAL SENSITIZERS FOR PHOTOGRAPHIC SILVER HALIDE EMULSIONS. THEIR GOOD SOLUBILITY IN AQUEOUS MEDIA FACILITATES THEIR INCORPORATION IN PHOTOGRAPHIC EMULSIONS AND THEIR REMOVAL FROM PHOTOGRAPHIC ELEMENTS CONTAINING THEM DURING PHOTOGRPAHIC PROCESSING AND REDUCES STAINING IN THE RESULTING PHOTOGRAPH.
