Claims Analysis

Total Claims: 6
Claim 1
Independent Claim 183 words
In a machine tool: a. a rotatable tool spindle means having a tool-engaging end and an opposite end; b. bearing means supporting said spindle means for rotation and including first bearing means adjacent said opposite end of said spindle means, and tapered roller bearing means supporting said tool-engaging end of said spindle means; c. said spindle means including an axial bore, and liquid passages extending longitudinally of said spindle means from near said tool-engaging end and communicating with said bore at locations spaced from said tool-engaging end, said passages extending through said spindle means adjacent to said tapered roller bearing means; d. an oil inlet line in communication with said bore adjacent said opposite end of said spindle means; e. an oil outlet line in communication with said passages adjacent said tool-engaging end of said spindle means; and f. means for delivering oil to said bearing means during rotation of said spindle means, said means for delivering oil including means for spraying oil onto opposite faces of said bearing means, and means for circulating oil in communication with said tapered roller bearing means.
Claim 2
Dependent Claim 183 words

Claim 3
Dependent Claim 143 words
In a machine tool: a. a spindle assembly including a rotatable tool spindle means having a tool-engaging end and an opposite end; b. bearing means supporting said spindle means for rotation and including tapered roller bearing means supporting said tool-engaging end of said spindle means; c. said spindle means including fluid-conducting passageway means formed therein, said passageway means comprising passages extending longitudinally in said spindle means adjacent to the inner race of said tapered roller bearing means; and d. inlet and outlet lines connected to said passageway means, one of said lines being in communication with said passages adjacent said tool-engaging end of said spindle means and the other of said lines being in communication with said passageway means at a location spaced from said tool-engaging end for permitting fluid to be circulated through said passages adjacent to said tapered roller bearing means.
Claim 4
Claim 5
Dependent Claim 55 words
A machine tool as claimed in claim 2 wherein said passageway means includes an axial bore in said spindle means, said bore being in communication with said passages, and said other line being in communication with said bore near said opposite end of said spindle means for permitting fluid to be circulated through said bore.
Claim 6
Dependent Claim 28 words
A machine tool as claimed in claim 2 including liquid spray means mounted in said spindle assembly adjacent opposite faces of at least some of said bearing means.
